Family Preparedness

Family-centered Preparedness

We are living in interesting times.  Over the past few years, we have learned that we cannot depend on others to provide everything we need.  We have personally witnessed how panic buying, supply chain breakdowns, and politics all can contribute to the problem.

Ensuring our families have everything they need is up to us.  The church has long encouraged families to be prepared for times such as these.  We cannot depend on the stores, the church, the government, or our neighbors to take care of us. Rather, we need to prepare ourselves and our families for whatever might come. By doing this, we are in a better position to help those around us, since our needs have already been taken care of.

If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear.  If we follow the counsel of the prophets and leaders, we will not be in a position of fear. We will already have the essential items we need to make it through life's ups and downs.

Where to begin? Often the problem is that we don't know where to start. This information below will help you answer the questions of what you should be doing in your family to get started.

Your Family Preparedness Plan

STEP 1: Create your Family Preparedness Plan

No matter where you are in your preparedness planning, we encourage you to review and complete the  Temporal Preparedness Guide - North American Central Area

This document will walk you through the process of evaluating the priorities in your preparedness plans, and determine where to start.

Make it your goal this year to complete this document, creating a Family Emergency Plan, and get started on that plan.
